why do str8 girls have such low standards?? like, bi women have discernment when it comes to men, but for str8 girls the bar is underground

This is what bi women mean when they say that their relationship to men is totally different from that of straight girls

bi women: “he’s gotta be cute and funny and sensitive and understanding and compassionate…”

str8 women: “is he taller than me and does he talk loudly and constantly? How ready is he to ignore my feelings and be unnecessarily domineering at awkward times??”

i hate monopoly it is like some old white guy was sitting around and then thought to himself, what if we could make capitalism fun? well you tried and you failed dipshit

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_board_game_Monopoly it was actually created by a Georgist to illustrate the principle that rent makes landlords richer and tenants poorer. She designed it to be incredibly not fun, to show that if you don’t own property you experience an inevitable foreseeable slow dwindling of your resources until you eventually go bankrupt. She figured that through Monopoly people would be so bored and frustrated that they would understand how terrible the system of rent is

Then Parker Brothers patented it, mass-produced it, people bought it because people have terrible taste in games, and the original creator experienced an inevitable foreseeable slow dwindling of her resources until she died impoverished and obscure

society is a horrific parody of itself

No wonder this game makes me aggressive

Her name was Elizabeth Magie and her game was stolen by Charles Darrow.

Darrow went bankrupt after the 1929 Stock Market Crash, so when he saw his neighbors playing the game, he copied down the instructions, and published his own version of the game.

Then he sold it to the Parker Brothers who popularized the game. Darrow became a millionare within the year. Despite this, Hasboro currently lists him as the sole creator on their website.

Magie was amazing, and not just for her game. She liked to mock societal standards of the time through theater and even made national headlines mocking the institution of marriage. She supported herself until her mid 40s, proving that marriage was not the only option for women, before tying the knot herself.

Elizabeth Magie is attributed with this, “Girls have minds, desires, hopes, and ambitons.” Dont forget her name.

This is the saddest and most representative of the United States thing ever.

Magie actually had a second set of rules for a more fair game to show how the system could be improved. The game was meant to be unfair to illustrate the unfairness of runaway capitalism at first, and then switch to a new set of rules, which provide a much more even playing field (and a much more fun game). Darrow scrapped this second ruleset when he stole it, eliminating the teaching purpose and also all the fun. Here’s the original rules, with the second ruleset included

Silicon Valley’s ‘Startup Castle’ is looking for roommates, and the requirements are completely bonkers

good thing i listen to exactly one song with explicit lyrics every day

I’ve been saying this for a while but Startup Bro is the new and terrifying lovechild of the brogrammer and the business major and he is somehow even more self-centered and bigoted than either of them

No, no, guys, look closely.

This house is looking for extremely physically fit young men (No drugs, no makeup, no special diet, exercise 15 hrs a week) who are passive and docile (no protests, no music lyrics with swears) who, most of all, will not be missed if they disappear (very little social media presence, not rich enough to own expensive luxury items, no need to constantly be in contact with their parents over bills/gifts, few identifying markings like tattoos)

This is obviously an organ harvesting operation.

Actually it turned out that the guy who was running it wanted to create a quasi-paramilitary organization.

There were so many horror stories about the place in the news that the landlord evicted everyone.

(Gotta say, though, that I like the organ harvesting scheme better.)

“It would have been better to have found out this was an organ harvesting scheme” is not a sentiment I expected to see today, and yet.

I think what i hate the most about how current gay rights activism is based off of how gay people just need to accept themselves, but often thats not the problem. I’ve known for a long time that I was gay, since like elementary. The problem was for me and still is, how straight people have always socially marginalized me for being gay since I knew what gay was. Ive been abused, traumatized, assaulted, mocked, bullied, and isolated for being gay my entire life. The problem never was I simply hate myself for being gay, the problem is everyone ELSE has a problem with it. Every issue I have being gay comes not from myself, but rather the world around me that makes me feel certain ways. That narrative of “accepting yourself” is such bullshit because while self acceptance is vital for everyone, it places the burden of gay people’s lives on themselves and not the world around them for being violently homophobic to them. And unless that changes, no amount of self acceptance can save you from the violence you will face for the rest of your life for being gay.

I hate this idea people have that if a parent walks in and turns off the tv while their kids are watching or playing something it’s evidence of some unhealthy attachment or addiction to technology if they get pissed off. If you walk up and slap a book out of my hand while I’m reading I’m going to have the same reaction, fuck off you’re not making some great social commentary you’re just being an ass hole.

If you slap a sandwich out of my hands and I get pissed it doesn’t mean I’m addicted to eating it just means I was enjoying something and then you had to be an asshole lmao

Honestly nothing would make me happier than a big scary monster poping out from around a corner only to blush and offer me some of the snacks i mentioned liking in a previous level.

Hey Fam, Sis, Bruh, Unc, Auntie, Cuzzo, & Gangstas Young and Old

It’s ya boi, Dean. A regular degular schmegular Black, Trans boi from the the A! As some of you may know I have been long time Activist and organizer here in Atlanta, fighting for my communities.

In June, I was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). I eventually had to stop organizing and leave my job to focus on my health. For the last six months, I’ve been overwhelmed by numerous doctor visits and the weight of high-priced medical bills. I do not have medical insurance and was denied Medicaid. And now my housing is in jeopardy.

I am in anotherdesperate situation. I have been notified by my landlord, that if I am unable to my rent by January 21st, that I will be evicted. Many of you may not understand how I can be in this position, but being fo Trans is expensive. Having a incurable auto-immune disease is expensive. Being Black is expensive.I have 10 days to raise $950.00.

HELP ME KEEP MY HOME!

If I can just 100 people to donate just $10. I will reach my goal. Whether it’s $10, $5, or .99, your donation will help prevent another Black Trans person from kicked out of their home and forced onto the streets.

Donate, Share, Send Love 🙏🏾

i feel like there’s this huge misconception in lgbt circles about twospirit people. let me make something clear: being twospirit is not being nonbinary, genderfluid, etc. it’s a catch-all term for lgbt ndns that originated in 1990 as a pan-indian term for us, due to colonialism stealing the way that many of our nations described lgbt people (or didn’t, because some nations didn’t have a concept or word for lgbt people).

depending on the nation, twospirit people have different roles and meanings. most nations tended to use these identities to describe trans fem people/gay men (though some nations of course did and still do have separate vocabulary for trans masc people/lesbians and third gender people). one thing that historical and contemporary twospirit identities have in common is (a) importance in ceremony, and (b) being connected to our cultures in a way that they cannot exist outside of a cultural context, because  “at the core of contemporary two-spirit identities is ethnicity, an awareness of being native american as opposed to being white or being a member of any other ethnic group” (jacob, s). contemporary twospirit identity was created to distinguish us and our unique struggles from the mainstream (white) lgbt community who never have, and likely never will, care about our struggles. in fact, many twospirit people dont consider themselves lgbt due to our alienation.

so basically: if you’re not indigenous and you choose to use twospirit as a way to prove a point in an argument or to give yourself wokeness points, stop. you don’t know what you’re talking about, and it will never be the place of a colonizer to define our identities for us. our identity is not “queer”, it’s cultural.

sincerely, an ininiikaazo butch lesbian.
